Chelsea 3 Drawer Dresser

Gemme Juvenile, Inc. in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is conducting a voluntary safety recall to retrofit three hundred (300) Chelsea 3-Drawer Dressers, by offering a free kit containing wall anchor straps. If a young child climbs up or into open dresser drawers, the dresser can tip over and he/she can become injured in the fall or suffocate under the weight of the dresser.

There was one (1) report in 2011 of a toddler's accident involving a dresser manufactured in 2006, however the incident dresser was modified post-sale. This tragic accident occurred when the child climbed up a modified lower drawer, permitting a potential toehold/foothold and then into the second dresser drawer, which when he possibly reached for an adjacent shelf, caused the dresser to fall and entrap him.

All Chelsea 3 Drawer Dressers passed all applicable voluntary and mandatory standards at their time of manufacture and are in no way defective. The standards in force at that time, however, did not require wall anchor straps. We are offering you this free safety kit containing wall anchor straps because we believe that child safety is a priority. Please fill out the form in order to receive your free kit.

Request a Chelsea Wall Anchor Kit

We are providing FREE retrofit kits (wall anchor straps) for any Chelsea 3 Drawer Dresser that was manufactured prior to December 2010. All dressers were compliant with the applicable safety standards at the time, however, those standards did not call for wall anchor straps, which we feel are a good preventative measure. When properly installed, the straps can help to prevent the tipping of furniture.

Please fill out the following information so that a free kit can be mailed to you.
